Demystifying AAP

Source : Google
The journey from “About Aspirations of People” to “Abrogating Aspirations of Police”.
The sanctity and purity of the day, when the Crusade of the people: AAP, dethroned the hierarchy and occupied the throne following an unbiased, transparent and governance delivering approach, could still be felt. Their win actually symbolized the win of the nation and its people, paving way for participative and corruption-free democracy. It was really worthwhile to notice how people from varied walks of life: Engineers, Businessmen, Doctors, housewives, rickshaw-pullers, officers poured in their contributions ranging from Rs.10 to several lakhs, to make this seemingly honest party, come to power. It set a contrast example of how elections could still be won, following the guidelines laid out by the Election Commission. Winning is not about hiding the donations of the party and wooing the voters financially but it’s about identifying the problems and providing the platform to eradicate them.

With their memorandum of free water and Free Electricity, they were the source of extreme form of Media Coverage across all-the Media-Channels, with each one of them running the same repeated documentary-type news of ArvindJi from morning till evening, portraying him as the messiah of the people, the traits of whom were amazingly bright, right from his birth. That’s how media functions in our nation, this moment you are The Great Captain Cool, winning the highly acclaimed series one after another and the very next moment you are a stubborn guy, unwilling to modify your Final Eleven. Well Never Mind. From rejecting support from Congress to overturning the request of personal Security; from abrogating the enormous govt. villa to the quashing of VIP culture; the Delhi CM has been the eternal source of limitless Media Attention. Whether the above declarations were declared to be followed or were just a mere act of publicity, is a debatable argument.

Whatever be the case, with AAP taking on the central role, people were quite optimistic that a revolution was in making. Wind of Positive Development and efficient Delivery of Services to the people was about to swirl across Delhi. But instead, what is being delivered to the people: ……  Yeah! You could substitute that Famous Dialog of KAPIL here!!  Though they have only been a month long Govt., they have a long way to go from this point. But there is a popular saying, “Poot ke Paon, Paalne mein dikh jaate hain”.

The CM of the capital of India goes onto a strike, shunning his responsibilities and urges the people and police to join him in the agitation in front of PM Office, demanding the Delhi police control to be transferred to Him, along with the suspension of 4 police Officers who tried to save foreign nationalities, from the Law Minister of Delhi himself!!! Improving the Situation doesn’t mean, going out there in public and humiliating anyone and that too women, just because they seemed to be involved in illegal activities. There are legal ways to do that. Flouting the laws openly and publicly and stamping yourself as an Anarchist, after being the CM, is certainly not a trait desired in any CM. If CMs too need to organize Strikes and Bandhs to get things done, without giving a thought to the discomfort and chaos being caused to the people, then why in all, there is a post of CM in the first place.

Sir, people, after a long time have invested their support, time and energy, form the bottom of their hearts, in a crusade like this and are waiting for something good to happen to them and their country.  On top of this, instead of delivering them good governance, all of a sudden you are being so desperate to contest the upcoming Lok-Sabha elections (although you first neglected it). Your performance has not been tested on the State level, then how could you promise to deliver at the national level.  Without delivering any performance, you tried to cash-in your imminent popularity. Though it’s truly said, “It’s good to wash your hands in flowing water.” But only if you are going to eat after that. When You enter in a new house, first you need to sort some things out, arrange them a little bit and then you take up the task of relaxing and eating. Entering the home and directly thinking of relaxation could leave your house in complete disorder. There is no doubt about the effectiveness of the protests as the tool to raise your opinions against the existing system. But the sole reliance on them, even when you are the system and hold power is not a sensible idea. People supported the protests to make you rise to power, now it’s your duty to provide them the desired outcomes.

On a concluding note, it would be right enough to say that, we as people are too quick to pass our judgement and point-out flaws in phenomenon happening around us. But if we support something with full eagerness and zeal, then the least we expect in return is the proper solution to our grievances and the existing situation to improve. Well, your journey has just begun and have a lot to prove and a lot of time at your disposal to do that. But I wish and seriously hope that you don’t have to bear the same torture and disrespect like the UP govt. Let's See What rolls out in the future.

Superstitions have been integral part of our lives for long. At some point or the other, in some form or the other we have acted like its’ disciplined disciples, Be it: The Pauses we undertook after a cat crosses our way; Eating Sweet and Curd before leaving for some momentous event; Refraining from cutting Nails and Hairs on Thursday; Avoiding Non-Veg. on Tuesdays; Not Buying steel/metal on Saturdays and many more like these.

Although people strongly believe in Religion and God but they haven’t been able to comprehend the true significance of these terms. This in particular could be attributed to the older generations who have been hierarchically inheriting these beliefs along with their genes, generations after generations. In stark contrast to the above, is the perspective of the current generation of Youth towards these beliefs. Though during their childhood, they too were forced to accept those trends but now they are bold enough to question their origin. But the gloomy part is that even today, when the technological advances have undertaken a giant leap forward, people can’t give away their habit of clinging to these superstitions.

There are people or I must say highly acclaimed “Babas” across the nation, who through their actions and say are promoting this logic-less behavior and have already been successful in developing a large empire of superstitious people who have forgotten to believe in themselves.

“Pouring a liter of oil in some temple on a particular day would not wash away your entire sins. Rather, It’s only the service of mankind that would attain you salvation.

Obviously, the believing and following of superstitions is certainly not justified because irrespective of advances in any field, our stance in any situation should be driven by pure logic along with the past experiences, rather than being influenced by some superstitious belief. But it’s a quite difficult task to convince the people that superstitions are not the reason for their success and happiness but they are just the propeller of their ignorance. Rather, it’s their Hard-Work, Determination and their resilience that would bring laurels in their life. Despite such ‘Never-To-Shun-Superstitions’ attitude of many, there are ample efforts being made in the form of Movies, Daily Soaps, Publications across the nation to make the people aware of the realities of their lives. Sooner the people realize the truth, sooner the happiness, joy and prosperity are going to follow.

DISHEARTENED

The events unfolding right now in the nation are totally disheartening:

Are they out of their senses?
  • It’s very disheartening to see those a******s berating each other over the price that would define poverty. Whether it should be Rs. 12, Rs. 5 OR the most recent introduction Re.1, has completely left me flabbergasted. Tell me one thing you Mor**s, ever since you were able to breathe properly you are sucking and feeding on the precious wealth of our country. With properties and assets worth crores n crores and unaccounted figures being stashed abroad, your insatiable lust for wealth has not reduced a bit, then how the hell could you say that a poor could fill his food-deprived stomach with so and so rupees.

  • There is another instance of a person who has completely lost his senses. The fever of upcoming elections has completely eradicated the sense of righteousness from his infected brain (if it exists !!).He has gone to the extent of acknowledging her party’s MP by  slang language. Your opposition and everyone is right, now your political days are over, now you need to take some cough syrups and should be sent in a car’s DIGGY to some mental asylum.

  • Finally, these are the news that no longer form the headline of the newspapers as they are so common nowadays. Earlier limited to Hindi Daily, now their abundance has led them to the English newspapers too. (May be it’s the first time I have observed so.) The innumerable assaults on women; robbing in the broad daylight; entering in the house and robbing, ripping away those who come in between and all such countless assaults. Yesterday only, a daughter and her mother were ripped off, of their necks in ALIGARH just because they resisted the robbery. And that girl recently got admitted in our college and was about to begin her B.Tech from the upcoming session but her life which was about to begin has ended before it could start.

Sometimes you feel like just leaving the nation and wish you had been born somewhere else. No!! But you cannot say so because you know there are people who would rebuke straight on your faces saying, “You can only criticize the ministers and talk all sorts of stuff. If you feel this way, then why don’t you try to do something?”

What the hell, do you expect from us?? Should we organize protests every other day for the innumerable reasons, flaws in the system, negligence of duties by govt. officials and numerous other instances that we could make you count?? Would you feed my families while we are in the protests?? Who would support our families when we are one of the targets of some govt. conspiracy, for being a whistleblower?? Is that why we elect those Chaircoled (Chair+Fevicol) ministers, so that they do nothing on coming in power and we ultimately have to organize protests to get our work done? SO, why all this Election-Mess has been created. Dump the democracy and Bring the Barter Rule in every walk of life.
If election are the only time you take our opinions and fool us throughout the year, then shun these elections. We, like responsible citizens pay every new tax you introduce, try our best to conserve the natural resources, assist you in catching the culprits (when required), bear the physical torchers for being part of the protest. Then why are we neglected our basic requirements? Now, when we take up a job in other country why so many patriots come into picture, inhibiting us from taking our stand, airing such fascinating stories about Nation-Calling; would try to woo us by making us watch SWADES. In reply we would like to tell them : If you have guts enough, then go and talk to the lead actor in that movie. IF he doesn’t abuse you, rebuke you in your face, then we would agree that only our outlook is blurred.

But whatever be the case, the situation is very grim and we have to go through it. Whatever they say, do we don’t give a damn about that but ultimately nation as a whole should rise. I only pray the 2014 gives a leader who loves his nation and is open to opinions of people.

Hoping the situation would change!!

The Tradition of Ghoonghat

For the traditional Indian Woman, her veil Or Ghoonghat was considered to be a symbol of her righteous attitude towards her elders, the storehouse of Manners she possessed and the extent to which she would prove herself to be the ideal House-Wife. How Can I Say that?
Do not consider me as The Re-Incarnation of some 18th Century Guy who dreams about the villages and the women and their veils, rather it is on the basis of the Inputs provided to me by some inhabitants of that period and the few existing instances of the Veil-Tradition which I witness around myself, have led me to say that.

It is not an indicator of respect.
The Women while recalling their experiences with the Ghoonghat, told me about the much sought after tradition of that time (late 80s’- early 90’s). According to the customs, a newly married woman on arriving her Sasural was obliged to visit the temple(followed even today), accompanied by her family members and that too, with the Ghoonghat at its’ peak i.e. fully covering the face and if possible, upto the neck. The sight of Ghoonghat clad woman led people to know that a new Bride had arrived in their locality. Although it poised difficulty in climbing the Staircase of temple but none of the women of that time considered that to be a burden, which they wished to shred off from their lives. It was considered a moral obligation to be fulfilled by them, a habit that had already set its’ roots deep within the scary hearts of the people of that time. There were a group of women roaming around the locality, who had the task of certifying the Bride by her veil, congratulating or taunting the Mother-in-law based on the length of the Ghoonghat. The brides of that time were expected to adjust their veil and quit the room as soon as visited by some elder. Whether they were eating, taking rest or singing a lullaby to their child, she was bound to leave all that and hid herself behind that piece of cloth.

Contrast that with the situation of today, where the Majority of the Girls are opposed to that traditional Fashion and could feel the turmoil within on listening that word. Even if they agree to that, their mothers would ensure that her darling kid is not threatened to hide herself and just agrees on the minimal Cover. But if that condition persists, she is ready to go to any length to abuse and dis-respect the Boys’ Family, even it means rejecting that Family. This transition is a strong reminder of the fact that The Women today have come to realize their true potential and no-longer consider themselves as the means to Settle the household, raise kids and provide her everlasting service to her GOD like husband. How could someone be labeled, just on the basis of that veil of ignorance which dominates our mind. Why doesn’t the men pay respect to the women by wearing Turban over their heads? Has anyone stopped them from doing so?

By Saying so, I am not opposing the fact that elders need to be respected, the people who can’t respect their elders find it difficult to achieve their aim. But there isn’t only one way for showing respect. Also, Ghoonghat tradition does not need to be sacked, as long as it is not imposed as a compulsion on women rather is based on the will. There were good things in that time too and there is good now.

The Women, too like men  want to lead a comfortable, respectful and joyful life not expecting much, but at least the basic rights which they possess being a citizen of their nation. This malpractice of analyzing by the veil is fading away from the society but its’ presence in some places is absolute. The women of today are more independent, open-minded and frank. But that doesn’t make them disrespectful, disobedient and causing riots within the family and they don’t need a veil to reflect the respect they have for others’ opinion, life and health. Accept Woman for what they are rather than what you want them to be. A lot of changes have occurred to women in the past years, some accepted readily by people while some still debated strongly, but hasn’t everyone changed with the passage of time?
